Interested in learning what it takes to become a Foster Family?Community Bridge is hosting a Foster Parent information night. Please join us to learn about the fostering system in British Columbia, and learn the steps to become a foster parent.
Right now there is an increased need for more foster families in the Peace Liard Region who can provide a temporary home for kids when they can’t live at home. Many of these children and teens come from hard places; however fostering can have a huge positive impact on their lives.
Our foster families come from a variety of backgrounds, each with different life experiences, skills, and qualities. They do, however, share a few things in common:
- All are residents of B.C. who are (at least) 19 years of age
- Their homes are safe and nurturing
- Each is comfortable in providing guidance and supervision that meets the child’s needs and their cultural heritage
- They are willing to work professionally with the child's care team, including their social workers and other support services.
Community Bridge serves and supports Foster Parents in Fort St John, Dawson Creek, Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, and Fort Nelson areas.
